Let’s move on to some pro’s and con’s…. well personally I find Facebook to be very useful in my life it allows me to connect with my old school friends, new friends and my family that are abroad as well as those that are here locally that I just don’t see as often anymore. I get to see how their lives are going as well as mine. The applications are sometimes entertaining and intriguing that you can actually become hooked on the game that you keep on playing most especially if you see that one of your friends are playing the same game and their score is higher than yours. The quizzes I find can be very entertaining because of the answers that we often all know that can’t be true. However it has served its purpose in entertaining you. My con’s or shall I say con is very few I just don’t see the need in always posting a notification on your friends homepage when you do a quiz sometimes I find it annoying because its every time you do something you’re invited to share. Yes I’m so impossible it’s a site about sharing and I am complaining about doing it.

Honestly speaking Facebook is great is you are in it for the right reasons. That is I wouldn’t recommend it as a good dating site I would suggest that you actually sign up for a proper dating site (they screen their members) if that’s why you joined or was considering joining Facebook. I don’t recommend it because sometimes you get misled by the pictures that someone has posted on their profile so this just like any other site like it requires caution because not everyone that may be there are as honest as you may be. So caution is a must for EVERYONE!! Once you realize the quantity and quality of the information that you are about to share and your comfortable with it then by all means feel free to Facebook your life if you are not that comfortable then I would suggest that you make use of the privacy settings that are available to you. Just still be weary because once the person is friend they can still get the information.

Many people believe that because we are moving into such a digital age real conversations one on one with people will be lost. Something cannot be lost it’s just simply forgotten where it initially was and by this I mean that if we allow conversations to die then it is entirely our own fault it was because we forgot where we actually got to learn our basics from it was speech before we were typing. I recently read about an Archbishop saying that social networking was dehumanizing our community life this came after the death of a teenager who committed suicide by taking a over dose on medications because of spiteful messages that we’re posted about her appearance and clothing. I however do believe that there is more to this story because this just goes to show that something else was wrong with this girl. Nobody kills themselves over some comments that someone posted about your appearance or clothing a normal individual would change their appearance and their wardrobe. Not take their life!

So to all you Facebook users be careful of the friends that you add that you may not know and to those of you who are considering joining I say welcome to a very addictive yet useful tool on the internet.

Life Lesson: Life is what you make of it not what you get out of it.

I however disapprove of the manner in which they performed the raid. There was no need to mess up all the benches and cause damages to the church no matter how minor was, they should have remembered that even though they are on duty the structure that they were in was still God’s house and we should always have respect for someone else’s property. After all the golden rule states that we should not do unto others what we do not want for ourselves.

In closing I would like to say once again that the officers were performing their duty to protect and serve the people of the City of Mexico and if they didn’t follow through on their instructions they would have been the one’s to account for their incompetance and I commend the officers that aprehended the criminals.

Life lesson: No matter what you do whether its something right or wrong at some point in time in your life you will always have an opposition.

The Catholic Sun has a editorial column (Mar 19 2009) that speaks about evangelization 2.0 they highlight the Church’s view on the importance of  evangelization through effective communication. The Catholic Church has recognised the importance to evangelize the people through the medium where they find most of the people and that is through the Internet. The Internet has one of the largest audiences on a daily basis so why not be where the people are? After all isn’t God present where we are?  A lot of information can be found on-line some negative some positive but wouldn’t it be nice if we stumbled across something accidentally about our Catholic faith when we’re searching for something completely different? We may have ignored it and went about our business but just the thought of seeing such a thing can get you intrigued and before you know it your browsing through the site and once again viola… that person or persons who are responsible for the content that you just viewed has now evangelized someone. Who you ask? You of course! Remember it was all about spreading the Gospel not necessarily conversion.

We live in a digital age where effective communication is the best and most effective way of getting a message heard and it now then not only becomes important to you and me but to everyone that is living on Earth. Often times we use different sometimes very effective ways of communication without even knowing that we do because even when we don’t we’re using it. Evangelization can happen once you find a way to share your message but once you are filled with the Holy Spirit and you feel obligated to share it and you’ve found a way please don’t force it down anyone else’s throat.
